Domenico Tedesco, a former RB Leipzig manager, has been named Belgium's head coach.
The 37-year-old has signed a contract that lasts through the conclusion of the 2024 European Championship.
He has replaced Roberto Martinez, who resigned after six years as manager after Belgium's FIFA World Cup group-stage defeat in Qatar.
"It is a great honour to be the new head coach of Belgium," said Tedesco. "I'm really looking forward to the task and I'm extremely motivated. I had a very good feeling right from the first conversation."
Tedesco, who has also coached Schalke and RB Leipzig, joins a Belgium team that is trying to recover from a dreadful display in Qatar.
The Red Devils, who finished third at the 2018 Euros, were the second-ranked squad entering the FIFA World Cup, but they were eliminated at the group stage after only winning one of their three games and scoring just one.
Martinez, a former manager of Swansea, Wigan, and Everton, resigned as soon as the Red Devils were dumped out of the FIFA World Cup.
However, following Fernando Santos' departure as Portugal's manager, Martinez was roped in for the role by the 2016 Euro champions.
